He is no stranger to politics, Cheney’s impressive resume includes periods as chief of staff of the White House, the whip of the minority of the house and the secretary of defense. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his new power to help reform the country and the world.

Vice is a 2018 American biographical comedy drama written and directed by Adam McKay. The film stars Christian Bale as Dick Cheney, with Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Alison Pill and Jesse Plemons in supporting roles. The plot follows Cheney in his desire to be known as the most powerful vice president in US history.  It is the second theatrical film to represent the administration of George W. Bush, after W. of Oliver Stone, and the third collaboration between Bale and Adams, after The Fighter and American Hustle. The film was announced in November 2016, with McKay ready to write and direct. Bale signed to play Cheney in April 2017, and much of the cast joined for the rest of the year. The main photograph began in September 2017.

Vice is scheduled to be released in the United States on December 25, 2018 by Annapurna Pictures. The film polarized the critics, with “scathing criticism and praise of celebration” for the script and direction of McKay, although Bale’s performance received universal recognition.  In the 76th Golden Globe Awards, the film received six main nominations, including Best Picture, Musical or Comedy.
